Our Beliefs

Grounded in Scripture, United in Faith

The Nicene Creed

AFMA adopts the Nicene Creed as its Statement of Belief. We hold to the core fundamentals of the Christian faith and believe that mutual love should be expressed in practical Christian service.

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Our Doctrinal Foundation

In addition to the Nicene Creed, AFMA is built upon the following core doctrinal convictions:

The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that His redemptive work on the cross is sufficient for the forgiveness of sins.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and exercise spiritual gifts.

Holiness

We believe in the call to holiness and that every believer is called to live a life of integrity, purity, and devotion to God.

The Great Commission

We believe in the mandate to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, making disciples of all nations.

The Church

We believe in the universal Church as the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, and serve in unity under apostolic governance.

Apostolic Authority & Doctrinal Standards

AFMA recognises the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the ultimate authority over all ministry.

All AFMA-ordained ministers are called to preach sound doctrine, maintain integrity and holiness, represent Christ honourably, serve with humility and love, and advance God’s Kingdom through evangelism and discipleship.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT ON APOSTOLIC ORDER

We declare that apostolic order is not a title, but a divine structure; not a position of control, but a responsibility of stewardship; not an elevation of man, but an alignment to Christ.

1. The Headship of Christ

We affirm that the Church is under the supreme authority of Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Body (Colossians 1:18). All apostolic order flows from Him and must remain aligned with Him (Ephesians 2:20).

2. The Foundation of Apostles and Prophets

We affirm that the Church is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19–20). This divine structure establishes doctrinal integrity, spiritual order, and alignment within the Body of Christ.

3. The Continuation of Apostolic Ministry

We affirm that apostolic ministry continues today as part of the fivefold ministry given by Christ (Ephesians 4:11–13). Modern apostles function as builders, equippers, and spiritual fathers, without adding to Scripture.

4. The Role of Prophetic Ministry

We affirm that prophets operate alongside apostles to bring alignment, edification, and encouragement (1 Corinthians 14:3). All prophetic words must be weighed and tested (1 Corinthians 14:29).

5. Apostolic Government and Authority

We affirm that apostolic authority is delegated by Christ (1 Corinthians 12:28), governed by Scripture, and exercised in humility (Matthew 20:26).

6. Apostolic Order Produces Maturity

We affirm that apostolic order leads to unity, maturity, and stability in the Church (Ephesians 4:13–15).

7. Safeguards of Apostolic Ministry

We affirm that all apostolic ministry must remain subject to Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16), Christ-centered, and accountable, producing righteous fruit (Matthew 7:16).

8. Unity Through Apostolic Alignment

We affirm that apostolic order promotes unity within the Body of Christ (John 17:21), strengthening relationships and advancing the Gospel.

9. Apostolic Mandate of AFMA

Acts of Faith Ministerial Association (AFMA) is committed to restoring biblical apostolic order, equipping leaders, maintaining doctrinal purity, and advancing the Kingdom globally.
